The National Osteoporosis Society is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of this fragile bone disease to reduce the incidence of disabling and painful fractures.
In the United Kingdom, one in two women and one in five men over the age of 50 will break a bone, mainly because of osteoporosis. They lead the fight against the disease in the UK by providing information, raising awareness, funding research, providing support and working in partnership with policy-makers and healthcare professionals to strengthen the care available for those who break bones or are at risk of breaking bones.
