Description / Expertise

Longton Hall was a Queen Anne
mansion near Stoke on Trent,
England. In 1749 a small porcelain
factory was set up there, which
produced a variety of wares and
figures up until 1760. Figures
featured prominently in the factory’s
output and although at first a thick
glaze obscured modelling detail,
quality soon improved and some
extremely fine models were made.
Today Longton Hall figures are
scarce and animals are amongst
the most rare. No other example
of this cat is known.
