A LOUIS XVI PERIOD ORMOLU AND WHITE MARBLE CLOCK, THE MOVEMENT SIGNED 'THIERY A PARIS'

Description / Expertise

Executed in the finest ormolu and still retaining the original mercurial fire gilding. The subject would appear to be unique and consists of a central stand decorated with classical motifs and flowering swags with masks depicting the four seasons which are attached to reverted scroll feet. the central feature being an open sunflower in the marble platform which is also decorated with more classical motifs.

The clock movement is original and signed Thiery a Paris. The enamel dial being decorated with more flowers; the clock movement surmounted by a classical figure holding a harp.

This clock is freestanidng and made to be seen from all four sides which is not only beautiful but also imaginative.
