A fine pair of George III mahogany "Gainsborough" library armchairs with scrolled supports and raised on moulded carved cabriole legs ending with scroll toes. Very similar to several pairs of chairs supplied to Charles, 5th Duke of Bolton (d.1765) Hackwood House, Hampshire
