Description / Expertise

Each urn-shaped blue john vase hung with ormolu laurel swags, pendants and flowerheads below a convex fluted lid headed by a stylised leaf finial, the acanthus-leaf cradle holding the vase body, the stem with spiral flutes leading to a Greek fret frieze around the top of the pedestal, the sides of each rare blue verre églomisé plinth centred by an oval medallion of Ceres, goddess of plenty, all raised on a three-stepped square base with ball feet.
